Windows 10 is still available for free, even now upgrade offer has expired

Although Microsoft's free Windows 10 upgrade offer expired on the 29th of July, it's still possible for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users to upgrade for free. On a special page on the Microsoft website for users that require assistive technology the upgrade is still available.

Microsoft writes about the update, "For the general public, the free upgrade offer for Windows 10 ends on July 29. However, if you use assistive technologies, you can still get the free upgrade offer even after the general public deadline expires as Microsoft continues our efforts to improve the Windows 10 experience for people who use these technologies."

The company also promises to provide a public announcement about when the offer for users requiring assistive technology expires.

Users have to click, "Yes, I use assistive technologies and I am ready for my free upgrade to Windows 10" after which the download of Windows10Upgrade.exe starts. If you feel bad about upgrading while not actually requiring assistive technologies, then know using keyboard shortcuts is also listed as an assistive technology on the Microsoft website.

Getting the Windows 10 upgrade this way saves you $119 for the Home edition and $199 for Windows 10 Pro.
