Here at Myce Crucial is mainly known for their
SSDs and amazing performance, but this time I will be taking a look at their
RAM. As many of you have noticed I mainly use my RAM as a RAM disk in all of my
reviews, because it can give extraordinary read/write speeds, and the fact that
Samsung decided to also uses a part of your system RAM to boost your SSD’s
performance shows how much speed you can get from by using RAM. Coming back to
the Crucial Ballistix Sport XT RAM, I have to admit that I was tempted to see
what the difference in performance would between this 1866MHZ DDR3 RAM at 1.5V
and my Kingston HyperX 1600MHz RAM at 1.65V.
Crucial was very kind to offer me their
Ballistix Sport XT 2x8GB 1866MHz DDR3 for a quick first look, so let’s start by
looking at the package and the Crucial BallistiX Sport XT RAM.

Here we take a closer look at the package
and what it comes shipped with.
Simple plastic packaging holds the two RAM
modules in place and also displays the memory. At the top we can find the usual
sticker that has all the information about the RAM, such as size, timings, voltage,
and frequency. Speaking about all this, in the picture below you can get a more
detailed view of the specifications that are written on the top left sticker.

A look at both side of the Crucial
BallistiX Sport RAM. Not much to say about the style of the RAM, I personally
find it very interesting, simple and clean looking, the only thing that you
need to take into consideration is the height, and you might (as I did) face
some issues with an aftermarket CPU cooler.
On the front side of the Crucial Ballistix
sport XT, we can see two stickers and the left one is the one that displays the
characteristics of the RAM. Below you can see take a closer look.
