A first look on the Crucial Ballistix XT 1866MHz RAM

Closing this quick look at the Crucial
BallistiX Sport XT RAM, I can say that the faster RAM will give better results,
but in the case of the Crucial RAM the thing that I liked was the fact that in
my system the memory worked out of the box at its rated speed, without even going
into the BIOS and selecting the appropriate speed manually, or the XMP profile.
Also the RAM was able to pass all my tests without any issues, and I also had
zero stability issues, something that is very important.

I liked the design of the Crucial BallistiX
Sport XT, but as I said you need to check that your aftermarket cooler has
enough space for the RAM module to fit.

You can get the Crucial Ballistix Sport XT
16GB kit directly from Crucial, at a price of $145 also on Crucial’s website
you will find prices for other models and for UK and EU costumers, on
amazon.com I did find them same kit at a price of $146. If you live in the EU,
amazon.co.uk also has the same kit for
£110.

This is the first time that I have tested a
RAM kit and I am left with mixed feelings. The RAM was very stable, and it
worked at its rated speed out of the box, but my motherboard was the limiting
factor and I wasn’t able to push it any further, therefore I will be very
conservative with my rating and give the Crucial BallistiX Sport XT RAM the ‘GOOD’
rating.
