Adjusting timings and speed
I will admit that I am not a fan when it
comes to overclocking memory, as from personal experience I learnt that in many
cases it creates more problems to be solved, and the difference most of the
time will be insignificant for the amount of time that you have invested trying
to overclock your RAM. I have however decided that I would be interested in
seeing what this DDR4 RAM from Crucial can do. I will start by say that with my
motherboard been able to reach a maximum speed of 3333MHz, according to what
ASUS says in the box, I wasn’t really thinking that I could push them higher,
and very quickly this was verified. So I decided to play a little with the
timings, so let’s see if they make any difference.
In this set of tests I will be running the
test five times and present you the average result. Below are the results, and
as you can see the default speed with tighter timings is the way to go.
As we can see there is a small improvement
with tighter timings.
Also the latency shows some improvement.

got with WinRAR, and see if there is any improvement when you start to push your

Overall it might be worth letting the
memory run with its XMP profile, and being happy with that.
