I would dare to say that the arrival of 4K
video, from mobile phones to semi and even professional cameras, is responsible
for pushing even further what microSD cards can do, not only for that much
needed extra capacity but also for the additional speed that you need to be
able properly record 4K video, and this is a more than welcome step forward for
everyone. To meet with this demand Lexar presents the Professional microSDXC
UHS-II U3 class 10 card to satisfy those that need the extra speed from their
microSD card, or those that just simply want the fastest and the best that
there is available out there.

Before we move forward with this review you
might want to check the official Lexar website to find out more about their
products and also their history. You can do that simply by clicking here.

Lexar was kind enough to send me their
latest microSD card for a review, and in this case it was the 64GB microSDXC
UHS-II U3 class10, but to make the reading experience easier I will refer to
this card as the Lexar Professional 1800x, so now I will start this review by
taking a look at the packaging of the Lexar Professional 1800x microSD and also
its contents.

Lexar professional 1800x microSD card, packaging and specifications

Time to take a closer look at the packaging
of the Lear Professional 1800x microSD card.

The
front has all the information you need about the microSD card, its read speed
and also what you will find inside.

The
key thing to focus on the back is the rated read and write speed, 270MB/sec and
245MB/Sec respectively.

This
is what you will find inside the box, the microSD card, a microSD to SD adapter,
and also a USB3 adapter.

and
this is how everything is packed inside the small box.

This is how I will be testing the Lexar
Professional 1800x microSD card. As you can see this way gives you very easy
access to remove or insert another  microSD card anytime you like, and also it
should give me the maximum speed for these tests.

Specifications

First let’s take a quick look at the specifications
for the Lexar Professional 1800x microSD as they appear on the Lexar website.

We can see that there are three cards
available, starting with a microSDHC U3 card at 32GB, that should be able to
reach read and write speeds up to 270MB/sec and 250MB/sec, then we have the two
microSDXC cards of 64GB and 128GB that have the same read and write speeds, and
in this review I will be taking a look at the 64GB card.

The time has come to start testing the
Lexar Professional 1800x microSD card, so let's find out how it performs.

Now let's start testing the microSD card
with the file system that it comes preformatted with.
