Testing with OakGate Test Platform

The tests are designed to show the Random and Sequential,
Read and Write, performance metrics for different combinations of Queue Depth
and IO size, including small IO Sizes. 

Here are the results –

Random Reads

You can see that performance scales as we increase the Queue
Depth to 32. You can also see that the IOPS achieved for small IO sizes is the
same as that achieved for larger IO Sizes, although it does appear to be
dropping off beyond an IO Size of 16KB.  


Random Writes

You can see that for Random 4K Writes there is little or no
scalability as Queue Depth increases. Again, IOPS appears to be dropping off
beyond an IO Size of 16KB.


Sequential Reads

We can see that there is little or no scalability beyond a
Queue Depth of 8, and that Read Bandwidth peaks at just over 211 MB/s.


Sequential Writes

You can see that for small IO Sizes Bandwidth does not scale
as Queue Depth increases, and for larger IO Sizes there is little or no
scalability beyond a Queue Depth of 4.
